Hi! I’m Shannon, the founder and lead makeup artist at Your Beauty Ball. I live to make other women feel as beautiful as they truly are. Sometimes, that takes a little makeup and skincare.
We are all so unique. Makeup is so personal. Skincare varies by each individual person.
So why would you choose me to be your professional makeup artist? I’ve been a professional makeup artist since 2004 and have owned Your Beauty Ball since 2012. That was also the year I became a licensed esthetician. In fact, doing airbrush bridal makeup in St. Louis brides is how I put myself through esthetics school.
Esthetics school taught me the basics of skin and skincare. I learned facials, peels, advanced techniques and skincare. From there, I worked for the professional skincare brand Dermalogica. That’s where I learned the deep intricacies of skincare ingredients and skincare routines. It was fascinating and I love sharing my knowledge of skincare
with other women.
Honestly, I have worked for several professional brands throughout my life and found tremendous value in it. I am lucky enough to have trained with MAC Cosmetics, Make Up For Ever, Dermalogica, SkinCeuticals, Epionce, Glo Skin Beauty, Jane Iredale and other small brands. Each brand taught me a different skillset that I use in my everyday makeup application as well as special occasion makeup. I was able to learn fashion show makeup, HD makeup, mineral makeup, Halloween makeup, makeup for events, senior portraits and professional headshots. And now, I also love teaching makeup.
When I’m not when I’m not doing makeup, I try to be the best wife mom I can be for my family. To keep myself balanced, I like to travel, practice feng shui, learn interior design, workout at the gym and write – which makes this blog useful. Humor is my love language. Dancing in the kitchen with my kids is my cardio.
